Step-by-step guide to create your Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) — your unique digital health identity.
Go to abha.abdm.gov.in on your phone or computer. This is the official NHA (National Health Authority) portal. Do not use any third-party sites.
On the homepage, click the "Create ABHA Number" button. You can choose to create it using Aadhaar Card (recommended) or Driving Licence.
Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number. An OTP will be sent to your Aadhaar-linked mobile number. Enter the OTP to verify your identity.
Enter your name, date of birth, gender, address and mobile number. Make sure your mobile number is active as it will be used for future logins.
Create a unique ABHA address (like an email ID) — for example: ramesh.kumar@abdm. This is your health ID that hospitals and doctors will use to access your records.
Once created, download your ABHA card as a PDF. You can also add it to your DigiLocker. Share this card at any hospital to link your health records digitally.
Use your ABHA at any hospital in India — no more carrying physical files.
All prescriptions, lab reports, discharge summaries stored digitally forever.
You control who sees your records. Share or revoke access anytime.
Link ABHA to your Ayushman Bharat card for faster claim processing.
